it has been a long, challenging year ... mother's health began to fail in october, 2009, and it fell to me to be a live-in care-giver. in the beginning of june, she was diagnosed with "mild dementia" ... by the end of september, 2010, she had descended into total dementia ... it was, to say the least, a very disturbing, frightening, and unpleasant experience for me. mother was placed in a nursing home in october. among the outcomes from the experience: i found myself homeless for just over a month; and i have decided to have no further contact with my siblings other than through the legal system. i am determined, however, to maintain a
